Tucked away behind a the parking lot, Jazz Nos Fundos (Jazz in the Background) truly lives up to its name: from the outside, youd never guess that it was a club at all, much less one where its possible to spend any number of long, sultry nights. The music is unforgettable and Jazz Nos Fundos combination of laissez faire and rusty glamorit is decorated with stylish junk from Sao Paulo's streets provides just the right setting. But the club does not limit itself to jazz: during the intermissions silent movies, animated film shorts and photos are projected onto the walls. At Jazz Nos Fundos entrance, a small gallery exhibits works by young artists. And all this culture can be washed down with an Erdinger beer or a glass of 12-year-old scotch.

You can’t discuss Brazilian fashion without bringing up cutting-edge editor Erika Palomino. She’s been around since the beginning of the country’s contemporary style scene, and her company, taking a cue from the cult film “Paris Is Burning,” is called the House of Palomino. Its fierce devotion to art and fashion is expressed across multiple platforms, from her namesake website, to television appearances to her bimonthly cultural guide, Key magazine.

Nicole’s work and cultural/social influences have defined her personal projects, from fine art to fashion editorials with an emphasis on portraiture.

As a freelance director, Cassiano achieved international recognition with a fully animated global commercial for Sony Ericsson, commissioned by Saatchii Frankfurt in 2007. His first music video for band Electrelane won the audience award at Reanimacja Animation Festival in Lodz, Poland.
In 2008 he was short listed by 4Talent Awards, part of Channel 4, as one of the 5 upcoming animation talents in the UK. Cassiano Prado currently lives in London, where he is represented as an independent director.

The Whitechapel Art Gallery was founded in 1901 to bring great art to the people of East London.
The Gallery has premiered international artists such as Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko and Nan Goldin, and provided a showcase for Britain’s most significant artists from Gilbert & George to Lucian Freud, Peter Doig to Mark Wallinger.
Now Whitechapel is embarking on the most exciting phase in its 100-year history: an ambitious £10 million expansion. By incorporating the former Passmore Edwards Library, the Gallery will double in size.
